European Football Championship: do's and don'ts for fans
DON'T
- go to celebrate your team's success in Charlie P's on Währingerstraße: the prices there have hit the ceiling. (I just paid 17 Euros for two ciders and a beer)
- try to meet any friends in the fan zone (meeting points are scarce; also, you might be the only one who managed to get in)
- try to call anybody from inside the fan zone (if you are so lucky as to have succeeded in establishing a connection, you won't be able to understand what the other one's saying due to all the background noise)
- go watch the game in some public place and sit with the winning team - the euphoria will extend to you, too, and gently carry you through the next working day
- not despair if all the tables are taken - just ask somebody if you may join them. Chances are you are you are making some new acquaintances that might come handy next time you go abroad
- join the party in the streets even if you did not watch the game! Some of the football players are quite attractive - and, judging from the crowd that is riding the underground these days, some of their fans are, too.
